Music is what I hear and something that I live by.
— Duke Ellington

Mixing elements of R&B and soul with their jazz roots, Kiana & the Sun Kings make music that is modern yet timeless, energetic yet contemplative. It is their ultimate goal to make music that dabbles equally in complexity and simplicity, crafting sounds for the musician and casual listener alike. Since their formation in 2017, the band has gained traction from their beloved home base, Louisville KY, and spread that love to surrounding midwestern cities and beyond sharing bills with notable acts like Joslyn & the Sweet Compression, Bendigo Fletcher, Moon Taxi, and Nappy Roots. With the release of their debut EP “Chrysalis,” this fiery septet continues to push the sonic envelope. Their sophomore EP entitled “Monarch” is set to release Fall 2022.
